These photos have been contributed by long time fan and car
owner Rod Nacewicz of Sherrill, NY. We'll start with some Rod has
sent of TV 'personality' Baron Daemon - AKA WNYS (channel 9)
weatherman Mike Price who dreamed up the idea of playing a
goofy vampire as a publicity stunt. It worked and the Baron went
on to host a weekly TV show with his 'Bloody Buddies' showing 'B'
monster movies in the same vein as 'Monster Movie Matinee'. The
Baron would often be hamming it up with his sidekicks 'Very
Hairy' as well as 'Frankie' and also made a hit single, 'The
Transylvania Twist' with Sam and the Twisters that is still the
best selling single in central NY. He also made it to Utica-Rome in
the 1960's and once took a ride with Tiger Tom Kotary. As Roy
Kotary remembers it; "The Baron thought he was going to take a
nice easy ride but Tiger had different ideas. Tom could slide a
car at Utica-Rome like most did on dirt and he took the Baron for
some ride. Right up against the wall, his cape was flying out the
back window and he looked shook up when he got out. Next week
on the Bloody Buddy Hour the Baron said, 'That Tiger Tom,
Heee''s Craaaazzzeeeyyy.' We all got a big kick out of that." Here's
some of the Baron, we'll add more racing pics later.
