Lydle Smith
Lydle on left, has just had a meeting with Joe Norton.
I'm saddened to report today that former Midstate competitor Lydle
Smith has passed away in Florida. We have no details, only that his
passing was confirmed by his sister. Lydle was a tough competitor in both
the flathead and overhead era's. He raced a Hudson, as well as several
coupes including Milt Johnson former #14, and one of Dave McCredy's
former #33. He was a fixture at the speedway during the 1960's and will
be missed by all who remember him. We'd like to offer our condolences to
his family on their loss.
