Adirondack International
Speedway.
This show was
co-ordinated by our show car
chairman Richard Parry, who
not only attended the event but
also wrote the following report
on it:
Wow what a week-end. The Fri
night shows were the best. After
getting camp set up and a bite to
eat it was over to the track for
the night as they ran the ASA
Late-Models, True Stocks, Light
trucks and the 43 lap Art
MatuszczaK Sport Compact Race.
Saturday it was food first,
unload the Falcon and a quick
shine. First in was Larry Ferrell
with the V3 after him in came
Jon and Margret Button with
their sprinter. And last but not
least was John Clark with the
3X. Then the fun began as we
had them all lined up to go in
the people came out of the wood
work to talk and take pictures. I
even chatted with a former
flagger from Watertown and
LaFargeville speedways Ives was
the name I believe. Even some
former drivers and a couple car
owners got in on the act. We
might have another addition to
the club as the former mechanic
of the 63 Wes Moody coupe has
access to the car to show.
Once behind the grandstand it
was business as usual. More
pictures and chat of all kinds.
SORRY no track time as they
had to deal with NASCAR for the
Camping World Edge Hotel 150.
But lucky us we all had pit
passes so in there we went to
kill some more time. Talk about
orginaziation the have got it
down pat as they are neat as a
pin and every crew member his
own job to do. Prior to the race
they had a meet and greet the
drivers where the fans had a
chance to go on the track for
autographs and pictures. By
now it was clouding up a bit but
the race got started on time and
running well and in came the
rain and red flag came out. After
getting the track dried out it was
race time again and the last 25
laps was a barn burner with
Matt Kobyluck taking his second
win in a row and Austin Dillion
2nd and Trevor Bayne 3rd.
Then the rain came back in it
was good night as the last two
races were cancelled and will
run this week-end.
We would like to take the time to
thank track owner Paul
Lyndaker and General Manager
Billy Gibson for letting us be a
part in the 7th Annual Nascar
week-end. As this was a fun
week-end and the hospitality
was great.
` Thanks Rick`
